About
Welcome to Kingkong Rotisserie Restaurant, a hidden gem located at 839 International Blvd, Oakland, CA 94606. Known for its vibrant array of Chinese soups and rotisserie delights, this restaurant has carved out a unique niche with its exceptional offerings, especially when it comes to BBQ.
As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I’ve sampled numerous dishes, but the culinary prowess at Kingkong is truly commendable. The aroma that envelops the restaurant hints at the treasures that await you. The highlight of their menu undoubtedly lies in the succulent Peking duck, lauded by customers like Anthony Nguyen, who describe it as simply “delicious.” You can't overlook the Asian BBQ pork and BBQ ribs, both of which have garnered rave reviews for their rich flavors and tantalizing textures.
While the food here is stupendous, it’s essential to note the atmosphere. Some reviews highlight a less-than-welcoming service experience. As noted by A. Fong, the interactions can be straightforward—perhaps more functional than friendly—but it’s a no-nonsense environment where the focus remains on the food.
In a world where dine-in experiences have changed drastically, it's unfortunate that Kingkong Rotisserie does not currently allow on-site dining. Prices have seen a slight increase, yet patrons like Minn-Johannes Lee still deem it a worthy destination for affordable, delicious eats. The key is to approach your visit with a focus on the meal rather than the service, as the culinary treasures far outweigh the restaurant's ambiance or service quirks.
In summary, Kingkong Rotisserie Restaurant is a must-visit if you crave authentic Chinese BBQ that satisfies all your flavor cravings at remarkable prices. Just remember, it’s about the food—so order what you want, relish in the flavors, and embrace the experience!
“ Good food, great place for duck, Asian BBQ pork and BBQ ribs etc. Large amount of menu items. Their egg Foo young is amazing. Picture is their wonton and egg noodles with Peking duck pretty good. 11.00 unfortunately, they havent allowed dine in since the start of the Covid pandemic. Prices have also raised 3.00 plus per item since then . ”
“ peking duck is delicious.. along with other dishes ”
“ The food is delicious I got noodles, a pound of pork belly and roasted duck and they were great do recommend you try but the service is lacking they all seem to hate each other or rather are so done with the world ”
“ Want atmosphere then no. But if one just wants deliciously good and cheap eat, this IS the place. ”
“ Lady behind the BBQ counter looks like she hates all her customers. Im used to the typical Chinese attitude cause Im Asian at some of their business but man she takes it to a whole new level. Dont ask her no questions, no extra sauce, why prices dont match the menu on the wall, nothing! She will beat you with a duck neck. But I still go there cause they have a very good BBQ selection and I dont want to drive to Chinatown. Just tell them what you want, pay for it and leave. Let her have her miserable life, dont let her bring you down. 2023 Update Lady is gone maybe retired cause she was old, Place is back to being a normal restaurant upgrading the stars and will be back to get my BBQ ”
“ The BBO pork is so good. I like to ask the fatty meat. The yellow feather chicken is yummy . The most I like is their soy sauce intestines . Shall be back to buy again. Dont expect service , just think about the yummy food Actual went back there again 2 days after the first time. The food is so good. They always close earlier than it supposed too. Family business. ”
